Safelists: Results

I’ve been sharing my results (or lack of, lol) from my traffic exchange advertising so I’m hoping you will also find feedback on the safelists useful.

I was actually quite impressed with these results :-)

I am a free member of these safelists and don’t devote a lot of time to them at all, something I may have to rethink!

I’ve pasted the email I used below the results. One thing I did slightly differently this time was to send the readers to my blog to collect the ebook, rather than to a squeeze/splash page. As a very high proportion of the people that clicked the email link then went on to click somewhere on my blog this is a strategy I will stick with and something you may like to think about doing too!

If you are new to safelists, or haven’t been getting great results then please do take a second to read my safelist training page (opens in a new window).

The three figures given are

  • number of emails sent, (unknown means the ad appears on the site so isn’t actually an email I’ve sent, or the information couldn’t be found)
  • number of emails opened (the link was clicked on to open site) and
  • the number of clicks on the advertised page.

Traffic Exchange Results

10th-16th November 2009

I’ve been trying something a little different this past week: Perfect Traffic Storm. The idea is simple as in exchange for allowing a banner to appear on your site for 15 seconds, your ad is shown on other people’s sites when they advertise. You can see how this works on my Success with Traffic Exchanges page.

One of the things that attracted me to this system is the ability to target the sort of pages our ads are shown on. The conversion rates they boast are impressive but it is a little soon to know whether it really is as good as they say….

The downside of using the Perfect Traffic Storm system is that my VitalViral tracking won’t be able to tell whether the clicks are on my page or the ad but this is something I can live with for a while as  the statistics still show me which traffic exchanges surfers actually look at the page. :-)

Traffic exchanges aren’t the most exciting way to pass the time, now are they? I have my core of top performers that I use daily but I’ve also added a couple of old favourites into the mix for a change of scenery:-

ClickVoyager has long been a favourite as it’s more fun to surf than most. In addition to the expected letter game (don’t forget to click on it to collect when you have all the letters of ClickVoyager!) there are hangman and card games together with the ’smiley’ bonuses to watch out for. At the end of the surfing session, don’t forget to play the CVslot machine for extra credits and watch out for an email with even more bonuses for being one of the day’s top surfers.

You can’t have failed to notice that I am an ardent supporter of  Opt-In Button, for the simple reason that it works! As Hit2Hit doesn’t seem to be performing as well as it once did for me I’ve swapped it in my surfing schedule for MajorLeagueHits. This is another solid performer historically but as I logged in and was offered a free one month upgrade it’s now on my daily surf list.

Top performing traffic exchanges

As always, these are based on the exchenges generating the most opt-in to my email marketing lists:-

  1. WebCentreSurf
  2. Soaring4Traffic
  3. HitsBoosterPro
  4. HitSafari
  5. RealHitz4U
  6. TrafficTaxis
  7. Traffic Witch
  8. Dragon Surf
  9. Bootscootin Traffic
  10. StartXchange

Click Voyager, Major League Hits, Traffic Goldrush and Tezak Traffic Power will also be daily surfs for me this week so let’s see if any of them can knock the above exchanges out of my top 10!

Safelist Marketing Tactics

Are you using safelists? They are a useful list-building tool to use alongside traffic exchanges.

Many people seem to use either traffic exchanges or safelists so get ahead of the game by using both!

Whilst there may be some overlap between the two advertising resources I find safe lists to be an excellent source of sign-ups for my list-building campaigns.

Perhaps you’ve tried using safe-lists before but found the sheer volume of emails you receive to be overwhelming.

Maybe you’ve no idea what a safe-list is or how to use one.

Download this free marketing ebook and find out how to use these useful list-building programs effectively in your marketing campaigns.

No need to submit an email – just click the download link below to read “Safelist Marketing Tactics” in your browser, or right-click and save it for later on.
